The Video-Conversation Library
The DuVersity video project was started for the purpose of documenting the work and ideas of remarkable individuals, promote creative interaction across fields of study and to spark free floating conversation/dialogues that would inspire new ideas.
Our first video dialogue was made in 1995 between Joseph Rael (Pueblo Indian) and Anthony Blake (director of studies of DuVersity). This video was made with the help of Benjamin Hitchner (this was an analogue recording made on VHS, a few copies still available).
The format we use for most of our videos is free flow conversation with no set topic. The idea behind no topic is you put two individuals who have developed unique ideas and ways of working together, set the time, place, arrange the participants, turn on the camera and what coalesces is a synergistic mélange of new meaning.
Most of the conversations are conducted by Anthony Blake and filmed by Karen Stefano. The titles shown below are available on DVD.
