The Enigma of Time

In 1977 I gave a seminar at Claymont Court, West Virginia, on the nature of time, drawing primarily on the ideas of J G Bennett, especially as written in his magnum opus The Dramatic Universe. Bennett’s approach included the idea of three kinds of time. In the first chapter of my book A Seminar on Time I give an introduction to the question of understanding time which, although it does not specifically describe Bennett’s ideas (these I tackled later) of these three ‘times’, provided an introduction to how to think about them.

A reading of this first chapter is to be found as below: https://www.dropbox.com/s/iug0q79pahc2a7z/Chapter1.mp3?dl=0

Listening to this may help your orientation to the forthcoming seminar The Dramatic Universe and Beyond which is, in a deep sense, a continuation of what I started exploring in 1980.
